Dry single-phase separating medical TRMT transformers with natural air cooling are designed to separate the mains supplying the electric receiver from the external network and the grounding or zeroing network. Their use reduces the likelihood of electric shock to a person, since the secondary windings of the transformer and the grounded neutral and "ground" of the voltage source are galvanically isolated.

They are produced in accordance with GOST 30030-93. Structurally they relate to safe separation transformers. According to the method of protection against electric shock, transformers belong to class I according to GOST 12.2.007.0-75. The degree of dust and moisture protection is IP00. The mode of operation of transformers is continuous.
